Getting Things Done

It has been a week since AnimeFest 2012. I'm still trying to settle back into the busy school schedule. Reading homework has increased by boat loads, projects are becoming more and more difficult to deal with. (Who knew working with wires hurt so much!) Despite the hectic schedules given to me, I'm content. I got to go to AnimeFest with my best friends, met a lot of nice cosplayers and got to take lots of pictures!
If you guys didn't see me at AFest, I was the Red & Black version of Taiwan from APH. Yup, the girl shuffling around the floor in the Chinese blouse and the big fat red skirt. On Day 1, I was seen with Matsumae Ohana from Hanasaku Iroha (in the morning) and Kagura from Gintama (at night). Day 2, I was with Lolita Luka (Megurine Luka) from Vocaloids.
To those who graciously stopped and took pictures with me, you have my gratitude. There was a Hetalia group shoot at the con, but I wasn't sure if it was exclusive only to the DFWHetalia members so didn't end up going. Should have at least gone to "spy" on them from the bushes. (laughs) I didn't know where the shoot was taking place, so even if I wanted to go, I wouldn't have found it. People were getting their photoshoots done in the middle of the SkyBridge, in front of The Plaza of the America, and different locations around the Sheraton Hotel/Convention Center.
I was Taiwan for all 3 days of the convention. I'm sorry if that sounds gross to you "cleanies", but I did take showers everyday in the 3-day-convention period. The cosplay took me about a week and a half to complete. Pattern drafting, sewing and finishing everything up. I was hoping to make my own Chinese knotting to hang from the flower hair clips, but I ran out of time. Time permits, I will make them so I could have the desired knot size plus extra beading to them.
The only thing that put a damper to my AnimeFest time was - this ice cream place. That ice cream place that was closed the on the first day and the morning part of the second day of the convention. My friends and I were hoping to taste some of the ice cream there, but they were always closed when we passed by. It did open, however - when we were leaving the con on Day 2. We had a sudden family gathering and had to leave the con earlier than planned, and that place was opened! What are the odds! (laughs)
I suppose I should wrap this little journal up and go tackle my wire sculpture, which is due this Thursday. We have to have at least 75% of it done by Tuesday. We did a rock demo to help us "practice" our wire sculpting techniques. Not sure how much good that did, but gave us blisters/bloody fingers.

I should actually be posting some more artwork here on DA. It's not that I don't have any to post, it's just I haven't had time to scan them all in. You know how that goes. It just sits in your sketchbook/drawing pad/whatever and never gets to see the day light. I will work harder on getting my drawings up here.
Another reason why I haven't posted any is mostly because they're simply just aren't good enough. With all these awesome art out here, I don't want to be posting some lame excuse piece of trash. I want to put something that's aesthetically, you know, pleasing.
With that, I'm off. I have more design homework waiting for me to finish. Spring break comes in two weeks! Hopefully, I can have some time to myself and do something artistically fun. Something that's not school related.
Here's a to-do-list for myself. Not like I will be back here checking on what I have on my to go list.
